Hey everyone! I have been experimenting with smoothies of recent. I finally have a blender to play around with and smoothies are my go-to-everything now unless I’m too tired to go get fruits of course. So I typed “benefits of smoothies” in my search engine and one of the links led me to this:

All you need is a blender, fruit and a base, such as water, milk or yogurt. Ah! My first thought is that my smoothies aren’t even as gangster as I thought: the only base I have tried using is water. So yay! More stuff to experiment with. This should be fun. I have only gone as far as pineapples, apples, cucumbers & lime but somewhat consistently. 😀
But for real, smoothies are the way to go. It saves you time. Instead of sitting and munching on fruits, just blend it or juice it even. Hence my slogan… Smoothies ‘cos chewing is too mainstream… loool. *curtsies*
They also keep you fuller for longer and this should be a plus for the dieters in the house. Another plus is that there are no limits to what you can smoothie… just go all out! And enjoy yourself while you’re at it. It also keeps me hydrated for the most part which is a plus if you’re like me and water-drinking is work for you. LOL.
My research also led me to The Science of Eating website and here they say, ”the best smoothies are made with natural, all-real, nutrient-dense ingredients, that provide vitamins and oils necessary for good more complete nutrition. Fat is required for biological functions and is burned by your body for energy. A truly healthy smoothie should have some dietary fat for the body to use in assimilating the vitamins. Simply blending a banana with ice and skim milk does provide a great deal of benefits or nutrients.” SO I REALLY NEED TO GO HAM ON MY PROTEIN BASES FOR MY SMOOTHIES.
So obviously, smoothies are a great substitute for fizzy drinks, soda and even coffee, yes, coffee. Wouldn’t you rather have a smoothie on the go than donuts and soda that you’ll feel guilty about afterwards?? Wouldn’t you rather have a healthy yummy smoothie full of anti-oxidants and amazing vitamins than snack on over-processed food?? Yes, of course you would, so join me on this Smoothie Adventure!! Destination: Healthy Body!
There’s even a great possibility that consuming smoothies is way better than taking supplements as ‘the best way to get nutrition is from food, and consuming a healthful smoothie every day gives you most of your nutrition in one proven, delicious dosage.’
Cons: Storing the fruits over time isn’t exactly a good idea as it would just rot so one advice I’ll give you if you intend embarking on this Smoothie Adventure is this:
I’d advise for you to buy fruits that you will use immediately to avoid waste or to go for fruits with longer shelf/fridge life.
