I would definitely be giving dry body brushing a go in 2017!
Since way more blogs pay attention to facial skin care rather than overall skin care, I have taken matters into my hands. This frustration led me to purchasing a hard bristle brush for my body.
When I tried to search for reviews of the brush I had just ordered, I stumbled upon dry body brushing. This is an interesting concept and the brush lowkey reminds me of the kind I used to scrub out bathroom tiles back home. Haha!
What is dry body brushing?
This procedure is rooted in Ayurveda. In Sanskrit, it is called garshana.
Just one tool is required for dry body brushing. That is your SPONGE. It is advisable to get a tough sponge that could easily root out dead skin cells.
dry-brushing has to be part of one’s wellness routine and needs to be practiced daily to benefit from the results. Garshana (dry body brushing) is an ayurvedic dry massage performed on dry skin (hence the name) that refreshes and stimulates the skin and lymphatic system, enhancing blood circulation and the release of accumulated toxins. Do this before you actual shower so lifted dead skin can be washed off after. It is also important to brush the body in specific motions in order to get the uttermost benefits from the process.
