My Love-Hate Relationship With Cantu Leave-in Repair Cream

The other time, I wrote a review for Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Repair cream.

Well, I take it all back.

After exhausting my first tub, I’m here to correct the misconceptions I had.

1. The fragrance still puts me off. It’s so overwhelming and it lingers for a long time.

2. The size – price ratio is perfect as it lasts me up to six months. You get the value for your money to the very last kobo.

3. The Shea Butter is what makes it special. It’s everything and then some.

It's no news that I have a love-hate relationship with #cantu leave-in repair cream. I've searched far and wide(okay not really, I'm not a #productjunkie ) and I haven't found any other #leaveinconditioner that adequately moisturizes my #4ahair. I got the #cantusheabutter at the beginning of the year and as you can see, it's almost exhausted. I took a break to try out @naturalnigerian's new #leavein. But then at the just concluded #beautyafricaexpo, there was a discount. Of course, I didn't think twice before repurchasing. The only tiny little problem is, I didn't check for the #cantusheabutter, I just picked the #cantuarganoil which turned out to be less moisturizing. I did not know how to cry. Anyway, I'll use it for a while and if it doesn't give me that extra factor, I'm dumping it for the #sheabutter even though I cannot stand the overwhelming #fragnance. But it gets the work done so. Do you have any #leavein tales? Do share!

During the just concluded Beauty Africa Expo, there was a discount on all Cantu products and I thought it was an opportunity to repurchase so I picked the Cantu Argan Oil Leave-In. It wasn’t until I used it that I realised that it was different from the Cantu Shea Butter. Yes, it is less moisturizing. My hair wasn’t as moisturized even after I sealed with my whipped hair butter. It just wasn’t it. I was so pained because the product was such a steal. To be honest, I was trying to avoid the overwhelming fragrance of the Cantu Shea Butter and I ended up in a worse situation. Eventually, I had to share it my friend because I needed to exhaust it as quickly as possible.

So, here’s the deal,

I’m not a product junkie but I’ve used a handful of leave-ins. I take my leave-ins and deep conditioners very seriously. Every other thing is passable. From the latest Natural Nigerian Leave-in to  African Naturalistas Leave-inMotions CPR leave-in and Profectiv Megagrowth Leave-in. I’ve been around and frankly, I really just want a staple product. My 4a curls are not very demanding, they just need to be well moisturized as often as possible. So, even though I can’t for the life of me stand Cantu Shea Butter, I’m will be purchasing another tub and I’ll suck it up and get used to it. Because what can man do?

You can get your Cantu here.
