Dr Fomsky in the house!

February 18, 2018

Hi, my lovely people! It’s been ages and I have so much to say. Happy 2018! What’s been happening? I started blogging as a hobby after having my first daughter. Before I knew it, it had taken over a large part of my life and filled the void I was experiencing from not practicing my profession. Sizzelle was even born out of this passion for hair care. Although I always…

Product review: Now Foods Avocado Oil

March 9, 2016

There are three oils that are believed to be penetrate the hair: olive, coconut and avocado oils. I have had these three oils in my hair product stash for a while and I decided to try the avocado oil on my skin. I honestly can’t remember why I didn’t also try the coconut oil and/or olive oil. I didn’t use it on my face because it has a comedogenic rating of 2. Please…

Wash day and new cornrows

March 5, 2016

I had these cornrows in for 4 weeks and I was following my wig regimen.….although not very strictly.? Wash day started by deep conditioning the cornrows with Pura Body Naturals Chocolate smoothie. I shampooed twice with Kurlee Belle Almond & Shea butter shampoo. After undoing the cornrows, I was left with a braid out. The next day, I detangled my hair and had the cornrows redone. The breakage was a bit more…

Happy wigging 2016

February 6, 2016

Hi!Hi!Hi! Long time no see. 🙂 I have a new regimen plan for 2016: wigging! Confession: I have a terrible hands-in-hair addiction! Plus in the last three years, I have hardly done any protective styles. This year, I have decided to do something completely different with my hair: MANIPULATE IT LESS. Manipulation has a direct relationship with hair breakage. The more you manipulate your hair, the more breakage you experience….

FAQs Friday: Conditioners with protein in first 5 ingredients

February 13, 2015

If you have been following my posts, you should know by now how much I love protein conditioners. One thing I know is that if you have fine hair strands or your hair is relaxed or coloured, then using protein conditioners are usually a good thing. However, not everyone’s hair reacts the same way to protein and you can only get to know if you try it first. The difference…

How to build a hair regimen: building a foundation

February 8, 2015

Since the beginning of this year, I have elaborated on my hair regimen. Now, I want to help you build yours. To be honest, it has taken me years of experimentation to finally end up with a list of products and steps that I am comfortable with. I can’t explain why everyone’s hair reacts differently to a product but along the line, I have personally confirmed this. I advise that…

Oils that cause acne: coconut oil, etc!!!

February 6, 2015

Hi people! So yesterday, I was talking about some causes of acne and it was actually a prelude to this post. A couple of weeks ago while I was applying Lavender Jamaican black castor oil to my scalp, I noticed a small bump. I was a bit worried because I had never felt a bump on my scalp before. On further inspection (with the help of my hubby), I discovered that…

7 causes of acne you already know

February 5, 2015

This post was inspired by a friend of mine who has never had acne in her life until now. Acne can begin in adulthood and it is a misconception to think that it only happens in teenagers. Whenever I break out, I do a major analysis of several things in my daily routine because I have discovered that they can contribute to acne breakouts. If you’re breaking out now,…
