I think I finally know why I don’t patronize upcoming organic skincare brands. The truth is, I don’t think they offer anything different from what I make at home and I’m not mincing words.
Every time I try to make an attempt, I end up getting disappointed. This is the case with the Ajali Vanilla & Lime Lip Scrub which I got during the #BeautyAfricaExpo earlier this month. I’m not trying to knock anyone’s hustle but they are really not bringing anything new to the table.
Now, onto today’s review.
AJALI is an all-natural, completely handmade cosmetics brand established in 2013 to promote local industry and create awareness for living a healthy life.
Say goodbye to dry, chapped lips forever with our all-natural lip scrub.
Fairtrade Granulated Sugar, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Oil, Vanilla Essential Oil, Lime Essential Oi
Rub scrub on wet lips in a circular motion to remove dry skin. Repeat as needed.
It comes in a nice mini tub ( which I already have recycling plans for) and has a distinct vanilla scent thanks to the vanilla essential oil. Nothing fancy. I use it as directed – with a dry toothbrush on my wet lips. You can’t really fault it because it gets the work done. It scrubs away the dry skin and reveals nice soft smooth lips. Other than that, there’s nothing special about it.
So, will I repurchase?
Nope. Not really. I make lip scrubs already.
(Because of the packaging)
Where to buy: Ajali.
