Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque(Review)

One of my childhood friends recently came over and raided my dresser. One of the things she took was my staple Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. It didn’t fully dawn on me until I reached out for it and it wasn’t there. Fortunately, I had been able to replace it at the just concluded Lagos International Trade Fair. Since I don’t always want to whip some homemade mask, I always have this at hand.

So, what about it?

It is important to mention here that this Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque is completely different from the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque however in terms of functionality, they do pretty much the same thing.

Other than that,

This classic facial masque is enriched with Kaolin, a natural English Clay known to immediately lift away impurities and revitalize tired looking skin. After use, skin feels firmer while fine lines and wrinkles appear diminished.

You know when you feel like your skin is beginning to secrete some excess oils which eventually leads to acne? This mask is perfect for that stage because it draws out oils and toxins from your face so much that you feel it as it dries and reduces your pores.

It has a reddish hue which I assume is the color of Kaolin – the major ingredient in it. So, it feels like the real deal and not just some concoction.

Does it work?

Of course it does. Plus, it dries instantly and is super easy to wash off. No fuss, no stress. Just rinse out and you’re done. I think everyone should have one of these masks. It is absolutely necessary. The only thing is, it dries out my face completely – which is great for oily skin btw –  so it’s compulsory to follow up with a moisturizer. But I think that’s the whole idea of the mask. It’s so good, you could use it everyday. The Anti-aging aspect? I’m not so sure. You can’t really tell until you have used it for a considerable amount of time.

I just realized that I don’t use it as often as I should. I mean, I didn’t exhaust the Mint Julep for over a year. Maybe it’s because I substitute it with my homemade masks. But now, I’ll try to be more intentional about it.
