Product review: Profectiv mega growth daily leave-in strengthener

There comes a time when your natural hair outgrows your staple products. I didn’t realise this until recently. Some of my products just weren’t working anymore. My two-year old staples became complacent. So, the search began for new products. The first thing I needed to change was my leave-in conditioner. It was a tad difficult getting one because I didn’t want to throw money away in the name of trial and error. At the same time, I needed a good leave-in. Anyways, I got one and have been using it for a while so, as usual it’s due for a review.

First Impressions
– It’s has a creamy consistency that’s just right.
– It’s well packaged in a tub that allows for easy usage
– This is obviously a protein leave-in.
– The price/quality ratio is good enough as it can last for a long time.

So much product promise.

Aqua, propylene glycol, polyquartemium-37, olive oil, shea butter, avocado oil, wheat protein, soy protein, hydrolyzed oat protein, argan oil, coconut oil, panax ginseng root extract, aloe leaf extract, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, soybean oil, glycerine, cetyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben e.t.c.

How I Used
The first time I used it, I applied it on dry hair. Subsequently, I used it on wash days as the L in the LOC method.

This is such a packed leave-in. But I was in search of a leave-in that would keep my hair moisturized for a few days and this didn’t cut it. My hair was dry by the next day. I have a feeling it’s not the fault of the leave-in, but my dry hair which requires daily moisturizing. In meantime, I love the creamy consistency. It’s perfect. Then again, it says daily leave-in strengthener. Maybe I’ve been doing things wrong but I don’t really like the idea of applying leave-in daily in order to avoid build-up.

This is definitely a good investment for daily/weekly usage. Will I be repurchasing? I’m not sure. I’ve a feeling I’ll be bored by the time I’m done with this tub.
