When and why did you start your hair journey? How do you deal with people who doubt you? What motivates you to keep going?
I started my hair journey about three weeks ago. This was because I was getting fed up of my thick and dense hair, so I wanted to scrape my hair. Along the line, I got chatting with a colleague who was wearing her natural hair and she introduced me to a group on Facebook. I started doing my research and reading up articles about black African hair. I visited blogs, websites and social media accounts of users who advocate natural hair. At first, some of my friends called to ask me if I could not afford going to the salon to make my hair or something was wrong. But I was very much prepared for the decision I made. What keeps me going is reading about how people transition and how they are now having great natural hair experiences.
Do you do protective styles? Or leave your hair down?
I do protective styles and style my hair as well.
Do you have any hair goals? How are you working to achieve them? Or have you already achieved them? How did you achieve them?
I am working on going natural totally and using some natural ingredients in treating my hair like honey, Shea butter, eggs, milk, bananas etc.
What do you love most about your hair?
The length, strength and the versatility of my hair.
What personal struggles or challenges have you experienced during your hair journey?
Wanting it to be softer and easy to comb as the undergrowth begins to shoot out.
