Natural Nigerian Lemon & Alpha Hydroxy Acid Black Soap (Review)

During my last NITC16 haul, I mentioned that I bought one of Natural Nigerian’s black soap asides from the raw black soap I usually buy. I always like to have a ready-made black soap asides from my homemade black soap.

Well, I’ve been using NN’s soap since September and I’m halfway through. I just remembered that I need to review it before it runs out because I’m itching to use my new batch of yummy homemade black soap.

So, let’s get to it.

Product Promise

Made from an ancient recipe that has been passed down through the generations, Black Soap is known for its gentle, deep cleansing abilities. Natural Nigerian™ Black Soap with Lemon and Alpha Hydroxy Acid has been specially formulated to help brighten complexion.

Freshly squeezed lime juice as well as the added Alpha Hydroxy Acids gently exfoliate the skin to reveal brighter, smoother skin.  Organic Aloe Vera Juice as well as glycerin keeps skin moisturized for longer.

We call our line of Black Soaps “Aromatherapy in a Jar” because we have been generous in our addition of essential oils so that you can reap the benefits of Aromatherapy while you shower. Lemon Essential Oil not only helps to calm you down, it works with the ingredients already in the soap to provide superior cleansing abilities and make complexion brighter.

Cocoa Pod Ash, Shea Butter, Organic Aloe Vera Juice, Vegetable Glycerin, Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Fresh Lime Juice, Lemon Essential Oil

I bought this specifically because of the Alpha Hydroxy Acid present in the soap. I thought this was a good opportunity to buy a completely safe and natural soap to brighten my complexion. Frankly, this is the safest combination you will find anywhere because Natural Nigerian is a chemist. Best believe you’ll get only the best,

I’ve been using it since the day I bought it from head to toe. One time, I used the soap as a face mask and left it on my face for a while. I can’t remember what happened but all I knew was that was ‘rough play’ and I wasn’t going to try it again. It has all the qualities of a good black soap – non– stripping, non-drying and lathers well.

It comes in a 4oz tub which makes application a breeze although I had to divide it into smaller containers at a point. But now that I’m halfway done, I use it directly from the tub.

Well,I’ve been using it for about a month now and I haven’t exactly seen any difference in my skin yet. Except, maybe my face. But I’ve also been using rosehip oil so it’s probably a combination of both. I bought this specifically for my body and I was really hoping to see a major difference. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet but I hope it comes around sometime.

In in all, this is one of those products, you reach out for when you need a good ol’ black soap.
