Happy Birthday to me and a Product Review (Beautiful Textures Tangle-taming leave-in conditioner)

In a few hours, it’ll be my birthday. I’m genuinely glad that God has kept me for this long but as it is, my family is more excited about the whole birthday thing than I am. Hopefully, this will be remedied before tomorrow.

What Tunrie thinks: For one, this claim is quite wordy. I truly wish all the claims magically happened when I slathered, sorry generously applied the leave-in in my freshly washed hair but that wasn’t the case.

Directions: Apply a generous amount to the palms of your hands and smooth onto wet or damp hair. Gently work from roots to ends with finger combing to ease out tangles and distribute evenly over hair.

What Tunrie did: After shampooing and letting my cotton tee soak in some of the moisture, I applied a very generous amount to my palms and did as instructed, except I upgraded the leave-in a bit with some oil and water I think. Honestly, lol, I don’t know when I do these things.

Ingredients:  Aqua, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olive Oil, Argania Spinosa Nut Oil/Argan Oil, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil/Coconut Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit/Shea Butter, Mangifera Indica Seed Butter/Mango Butter, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract/Rosemary Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract/Aloe Vera, Dimethicone, Panax Ginseng Root Extract/ Ginseng Extract, Polyquaternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glycerin, DMDM Hydantoin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Polysorbate 20, Propylene Glycol, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Phenyl Trimethicone, CI 15985/Yellow 6, Parfum/Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, d-Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Lyral, Methyl Ionone Gamma.

What Tunrie thinks: Honestly, I really think less is more: these ingredients in one product is just making me dizzy. Funny but true, though I may be lazy enough to not read through and research on every ingredient, I spotted a ‘cone’ and from research, I think that’s a no-no but I also spot some really awesome oils for my kinks.

The 12 fl. oz bottle is pretty compact, and although I got this product as a freebie (GIVEAWAY BY YOURS TRULY, Sizzelle), it’s pretty affordable at least, less than 2000 Naira.

The smell is delicious: my first instinct when I was about using it was to lick it but thank God for my better judgement. LOL.

Being the first time I’m using this product and all, I think it’s quite okay, keyword – okay. I mean, it smells so delicious I don’t want to not like it. I hope that makes sense. I also have a feeling that in this dry weather, this is the wrong period to try it out first. It really didn’t do much for my hair, cos’ I barely felt its relevance after I ‘generously’ applied it and I found myself running back to my good ol Cantu repair cream.

Not to say it’s horrible but I will probably be trying it out when the weather us more friendly or maybe mix it with some other product. My special bottle really hasn’t seen the last of me!! Haha! Hopefully, the next time I try it out, those claims will become facts. (fingers crossed).
