I like to have specific hair oils for my Hot Oil Treatments. Since I don’t pre-poo, the oils I use should as well be rich. So, when I stumbled on Dabur Vatika Garlic Hair Oil, I knew I had to toss my Dabur Amla Oil which smells hideous btw.
Most of the time, I do hot oil treatments (with heat) to strengthen my strands and follow up with a co-wash. At the end, I have soft luscious curls even before deep conditioning. That’s a standard for judging the effectiveness of the oils. Dabur Amla Oil gave me stellar results every time even though I really can’t stand the smell. I hoped Vatika Garlic Oil would be different.
According to Vatika Naturals,

Garlic is a rich source of minerals and vitamins which are essential for both healthy scalp and hair. In association with other ingredients it fortifies hair strands to control hair breakage, revitalizes and infuses the hair with extra strength, shine and smoothness.
Paraffinum Liquidum, Elaeis Guineensis Oil, Canola Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Perfum (Armyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Lilial, Cournarin, Hydroxycitronellol, Linalool, Limonene), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylemethane, Eruca Sativa Seed Extract, Rosmaninus Officinalis Rosmary Leaf Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Oil, Allium Sativum (Garlic) Bulb Extract, BHT, D&C Yellow No. 11 (CI 47000)
Apply Vatika Garlic enriched hair oil regularly on your scalp and hair. For best result leave overnight.
To be honest, I didn’t think about its promotion of hair growth (which I don’t buy btw) All I knew was a Garlic – infused hair oil cannot be a bad idea.
The most annoying thing is probably the packaging. It comes in a bottle without a nozzle with makes it super prone to spillage. So, I just pour the quantity that I need into my applicator bottle.
I cannot say whether or not it has improved my hair growth as I’m not done with my first bottle and I’ve just been using it for a few weeks. All I know is, it makes for a decent hair oil but doesn’t leave my curls luscious. Soft, manageable but definitely not luscious.
