Certain results makes you deliriously happy and my first attempt with this homemade deodorant is one of them. For a long time now I haven’t worn perfumes or deodorants. I think it was around the period when I was trying to transition to an organic lifestyle. I figured there had to be some better eco-friendly alternative to these things. Oh well, the rest they say is history.
After some research here and there, I realised that the ingredients required weren’t exactly far-fetched except cornstarch/arrowroot which I later found at Natural Nigerian’s Ahia. (God bless her). So, I got to work and like I said earlier, I absolutely loved the results. Initially, I was skeptical about the state of the mixture, I expected something deodorant-y, whatever that means. But after using it for a few days, I didn’t mind anymore.
I basically just used a makeshift recipe from Ecosisi ‘s Instagram. I needed to be sure I was doing the right thing. For someone who has been mixing stuff all year, I was unusually nervous. It had to turn out well!
Guys, this stuff is the truth! All you need to do is to get a small plastic container, mix your ingredients and you’re good to go just like the photo above. You do not need a lot. That quantity is a perfect patch test to determine your sensitivity to the deodorant. If you’re like me and it’s all well with zero skin allergies then you can make a large quantity and pour it into an old deodorant stick.
The best thing about is that your pits are fresh all day. No jokes! Like I can literally smell the freshness from the tea tree oil. Imagine it with lavender oil… divine!
This is my first attempt, because I plan to make different variations and keep y’all in the loop!© Copyright 2015 Ebun Oluwole, All rights Reserved. Written For: Get your Sizzelle on!
