DIY facial oil blend

Oil blends are quickly becoming my thing. I just exhausted my first set of essential oils so I have empty dark bottles lying around. But as the queen of recycling, I knew I could not dispose of them.

Alas, oil blends.

I have oil blends for everything. For my Oil Cleansing Method Castor oil and Sunflower oil, Hair mix – a myriad of carrier and essential oils, Hot oil treatment –  Amla oil and Eucalyptus Oil and now facial oils.

So, I brought out all of the relevant oils and began to mix.

When choosing oils, it’s important to choose lightweight carrier oils that won’t clog your pores but will completely be absorbed without leaving any trace. There are only two oils that I’ve tried that work perfectly for my face – Sweet Almond Oil and Grapeseed Oil.

Next, I had to pick the essential oils which wasn’t all that difficult. When I was done, I loved what I saw and began using it immediately.

Here’s what my recipe looks like;

1 tsp of Grapeseed oil
5 drops of Rosemary Oil
5 drops of Lavender Oil
2 drops of Tea Tree Oil
2 capsules of Evening Primrose Oil

I had run out of Sweet Almond oil but Grapeseed oil is an equally awesome moisturizer. Tea Tree Oil is great for acne while, Rosemary Oil, Lavender Oil and Evening Primrose Oil for anti-aging and reducing fine lines.

I can’t wait to make more blends.
