Cinnamon is native to Southeast Asian countries, like India, Burma, and Sri Lanka. It has been in use for centuries. In modern times, it’s used in foods and beverages like apple pie and cinnamon rolls. It is also used for savoury dishes in some Middle Eastern cuisines.
Cinnamon serves some traditional medical purposes too. Many studies and anecdotal evidence have shown some promising benefits of cinnamon and its oils.

Antimicrobial action: A 2008 study demonstrated the ability of cinnamon extracts to kill various bacteria. In comparison with other essential oils, the group came to the conclusion that “Cinnamomum verum bark had the highest antimicrobial activity, particularly against resistant strains.”
