There are times when you’re too exhausted to wash your hair to talk more of moisturizing. These are the times you need to incorporate some methods to help retain moisture for a longer period.
1. The LOC/LOCO (LIQUID-OIL-CREAM or LIQUID-OIL-CREAM-OIL) method.
Whichever one you choose, you’re guaranteed to retain moisture for a couple of days.
2. More moisture-intensE deep conditioning.
This cannot be overemphasised. It especially helps to retain moisture and keep the dryness at bay.
3. Protective styles especially twists and braids.
This particularly helps to lock in moisture for a couple of days especially when twist-out/braid-outs are not in question.
4. Protect the hair at night.
Satin scarves and bonnets help to retain moisture especially at night. So please, don’t complain about dryness if you don’t sleep without them.
5. Seal with heavy butters.
This is where your shea/cocoa/mango/avocado butters come in. As well as locking in and retaining moisture, they also keep the hair soft and supple.
