4 Other Ways To Remove Your Makeup Besides Coconut Oil

One of those things we keep hammering about is the removal of makeup at the end of the day. Even if you don’t take care of your skin, the worst thing you could possibly do to it is to sleep with makeup on. Many makeup brands are composed of toxic chemicals that are dangerous to skin if left for a long period of time. Wearing eco-friendly makeup is a safer alternative but even at that, you need to take it off at some point.

We have also talked about using coconut oil as a makeup remover as it’s particularly great for waterproof makeup. In the absence of coconut oil, what are the other alternatives?

1. Makeup/Baby Wipes

Ideally, I have an oil mix for cleaning my makeup. This also doubles as my oil cleansing method but these days I’ve been so lazy that I got some baby wipes. This is the most common and safest ways of cleaning makeup as it as works well for most people. If you have sensitive skin, you should opt for baby wipes which is more gentle on the skin plus it’s also hydrating. I found out that after using the wipes on majors areas like my brows, eyelids, and lips, I just need to wash off with some black soap and I’m good to go. Also, it doesn’t take long.

2. Facial Cleansers

I’m not a fan of facial cleansers but apparently, they double as a makeup remover. Some cleansers even come as special makeup removers. So, while you’re cleansing your face you’re also removing your makeup. These cleansers have also been formulated to break down your foundation, blush, highlighter, and even eyeliner. You can try the Neutrogena, Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover and share your experience with us.

3. Micellar Water

This is trendy now and apparently works like magic. Micellar water actually looks and feels like water but is actually made up of gentle microscopic oil molecules called micelles suspended in soft water. These micelles attach to dirt, grime, and makeup to dissolve them whilst leaving your skin intact. I can’t wait to try it. You can try the Simple Micellar water.

4. Vaseline

Good ol’ vaseline is packed with so much petrolatum that it can be used to remove your makeup. The mix of waxes and mineral oil is great to remove even the most stubborn eyeliner. Try it today.

Of course, coconut oil is still valid. I just prefer to save it for more important things.
